Hosting COP31 in Sydney.

The Australian Government has bid to host the UN Climate Conference (COP31) in November 2026 in partnership with the Pacific Island Nations. 

If this COP31 bid is secured, hopefully late this year (read more here), it will provide a transformative climate leadership journey for the nation and region. 

The Climate Action Week Sydney finale event to cap off the work week will, for the first time ever, vision into what it could look like for Sydney to host these crucial global climate negotiations that doubles as the world's largest trade show for climate solutions. 

The Sydney COP31 event will include a panel at 5:30 pm and drinks at 6:30 pm.

MC will be Richie Merzian, International Director at the SEC and speakers include:   

-  CEO of the City of Sydney Monica Barone

-  ARIA nominated musician and activist Holly Rankin (aka Jack River

-  Member for Manly and NSW Shadow Minister for Energy and Climate Change James Griffin MP

-  Cultural curator and Director of Friends with Strangers Sam Watson-Wood 

-  Australian Council of Trade Unions' Climate Advisor and author Dan Sherrell
