This expert talk will delve into the alarming surge of antisemitism online, a trend that has seen a 400% increase on mainstream social media platforms and an even more staggering 1000% increase on minimally moderated platforms.

Drawing on the latest findings by the Online Hate Prevention Institute, this talk will unpack the stark differences emerging across various platforms, address the rising concerns around generative AI, and explore the latest, most insidious forms that online antisemitism is taking.

This event is held in collaboration with Sydney University Department of Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies and Mandelbaum House.

About the expert

Dr Andre Oboler is CEO of the Online Hate Prevention Institute, an expert member of the Australian Government’s delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance, and an honorary associate in the Law School at La Trobe University. He also serves as Chair of the IEEE’s Global Public Policy Committee and General Chair of the IEEE Conference on Digital Platforms and Societal Harms.
