Espresso Extraction Masterclass

We love coffee and want to share our knowledge with you. Do you want to sharpen your basic barista skills, learn more about tasting coffee, and have some fun in a welcoming, friendly space? Then you’ve come to the right place.

Located at the De'Longhi Coffee Lounge, Zetland, just a 3 minute walk from Green Square Station, this masterclass focuses on the fundamentals of making delicious espresso at home, and is suitable for everyone from curious newcomers to passionate home baristas.

Beginning with a little history of espresso, we then dive into variables like dose, grind, temperature, tamping, and channelling. It may sound intimidating but this is a relaxed learning experience, and you will soon get up to speed. We will teach you how to detect and evaluate differences in flavour and aroma, understand the effects of over and under-extraction, and help you dial in your brewing parameters to achieve the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity in every cup.
