Double Take is not your polished, rhinestone encrusted burlesque revue. It’s the did-they-really-just-do-that show. A show that celebrates the strange, the subversive, and the unconventional.

In a time where conservatism in the West is on the rise, the burlesque and cabaret world have felt the boundaries of expression being tightened, with audiences turning back to palatable white, straight, cis, conventionally attractive showgirls. This is a stage reclaimed by the artists who are too often overlooked, underbooked, or dismissed for being “too much,” “too weird,” “too political,” or simply too different.

Making its debut, Double Take will feature as part of QTOPIA's Pride Fest, showcasing a bold lineup of queer and LGBTQIA+ performers with acts that will make you laugh, squirm or flustered...or maybe all three at once.

Double Take is camp, it’s chaos, it’s confrontation and it’s comedy all at once.
