Join award-winning artist Blak Douglas for 'Didge You Know' as part of our Made in Redfern month-long Festival.

In this performative presentation, he shares the ins and outs of the Didgeridoo as a cultural phenomenon and the origins of the instrument.

Blak's studies from the custodians of North East Arnhem Land, the Yolngu, provide a unique insight otherwise rarely witnessed. You'll learn about contemporary performers as well as traditional icons and their distinct playing styles according to geographic regions.

Blak introduces the basics of playing and shows a variety of instruments and their technical differences. This is a highly educational experience for aspiring players and curious minds.
