Saturday 12 February from 2pm to 3pm
An amazing Chinese lion dance performance. You are welcome to understand, learn, experience and perform with us.
Founded in 1976 and based in Sydney, CYL Lion Dance Group practises both Northern and Southern (traditional and freestyle) lion dance, and has performed on many important occasions. Our lion dance won the men’s world championship in Kuala Lumpur in 1997. The women’s lion dance won first place in MGM All Girls Competition in Macau in 2018.
The objective of the group is to promote Chinese lion dance through performances, presentations and interactions. In our workshop, we’ll show you as much as possible, and provide noteworthy information about lion dance, this Asian art and tradition.
We welcome people of all ages to come to understand, learn, experience and perform this exciting art form.
