Saturday 20 July 2024 from 10am to 3pm
For 1 day only, Cockatoo Island / Wareamah are opening the doors to its heritage accommodation and waterfront tents. Plus, visitors to the island will be eligible for exclusive on-the-day discounts on their next stay.
There will be plenty of things to enjoy, including delicious food and drinks and a series of expert talks about the island’s layered history and marine biodiversity. Oh, and they haven’t forgotten about the kids (or the kids at heart)! Throughout the day, they’ll have opportunities to witness rarely exhibited historic steam crane demonstrations, search for dinosaur fossils, play historical games, connect with Country and complete a Convict Activities booklet plus more.
Want to arrive in style? Hop aboard Sydney Heritage Fleet’s 1902 steam tug vessel Waratah to get to Cockatoo Island just as the dockyard workers would have done years ago.
Cockatoo Island / Wareamah is a short ferry ride from Circular Quay.
While it’s not compulsory to register to attend, we encourage you to do so they can monitor and cater for everyone.
