Make your own Christmas beetles decorations for your holiday celebrations!

Celebrate the festive season with Australia’s favourite seasonal beetle – the Christmas beetle (from the genus Anoplognathus).

Related to the scarab beetle, the Christmas beetle is an Australian icon. In this workshop we will make clay Christmas beetle decorations to keep and other Christmas beetles to decorate your tree at home.

Learn more about these amazing beetles and explore the beetles and scarabs in the museum’s collection and find out about the complex and interesting relationship between beetles and humans throughout history.

Join our education team as we make our own Christmas beetle decorations for the season!

Suitable for 6-12 year olds. Parents and guardians are required to stay with children.
