Sydney dancers, it’s time to step up! Beat Breakdown is the newest 1v1 dance battle, bringing different styles to the Darling Harbour dance floor each month.
Whether you’re a master at breaking, popping, locking or waacking – this is your chance to share your style, win epic prizes and wow the crowd.
Beat Breakdown is an open battle, with 16 spots* available. Signing up for the battle is free, and it’s also free to watch. Bring your talent and your crew, it’s all on us!
Each month, a different dance style will be showcased and we’re kicking things off in March with Breaking - the dynamic, acrobatic street-born dance style, from the street culture of hip-hop. The best two dancers will progress to a final and are invited to a quarterly ‘All Star Battle’ in July.
Special guests include local judges Bgirl TNT, Taz and Tango, Mistery as MC and on the decks DJ Hideboo, in collaboration with local legends, Dancekool – the pioneering street dance studio.
