Artistic Director of Bach in the Dark, Rachel Scott, is joined by Australian cello legend David Pereira for a night of music featuring the sound of two cellos.
Rachel is joined by her former cello teacher (and dear friend) for an hour's concert in the darkness of St James church crypt. Get ready for a celebration of all things cello - and a musical friendship of over 30 years.
You’ll love the program they two friends will present – there will be musical sparkles by Boccherini, dances by Bartók, sets of variations by Kummer and David Pereira, and they’ll finish with an incredible arrangement of Bach’s Chaconne from his second violin partita.
The doors to the crypt open at 6.30, and seating is unnumbered. You may want to bring your own cushion (you may be seated on pews), or something warm (it is, after all, a crypt!). There will be a glass of wine (or non-alchoholic beverage) offered to every audience member on arrival.
