Australian Local Conference of Youth 2024 (LCOY)

When

Saturday 11 May 2024 from 10am to 2:30pm

LCOY stands for Local Conference of Youth and is a national youth climate change conference, which aims to amplify the voices of children and young people. This event is the launch event of Australia’s LCOY for 2024, supported by Councillor HY William Chan from the City of Sydney.

This is an opportunity for young people to contribute to a National Youth Statement, which will be presented at the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). This is an initiative of YOUNGO, the children and youth NGO constituency of UN Climate Change (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). YOUNGO hosts a Global Conference of Youth (COY) just before COP, and the LCOYs are the national versions of COY.
