Join us in Sydney for our August Cause Club! This month we're having a crafty afternoon of zine making and showing up in purple to celebrate Wear It Purple Day in support of Minus18.
The heart of it: Everyone is encouraged to wear purple and join us making zines in celebration of Wear It Purple's 2026 theme: Colours of Courage. We're coming together to proudly let the young queer community that they are loved and supported.
Every Cause Club city will create their own zine pages, which we’ll combine into one giant national digital zine celebrating and supporting the queer community. It’ll become a free resource for LGBTQIA+ young people, reminding them they’re seen, valued, and never alone.
Heads up: Please wear something purple if you can (shirt, socks, headband, nail polish, eyeshadow, badge, anything!). Also bring along a magazine that can be used to make your zine - and if you want to bring in any photos of queer icons, even better.
Our group mission is to:
Create pages for our giant, national community zine
Wear purple to send a message to queer youth that they are loved and supported
Learn more about Minus18 and the work they do to improve the lives and outcomes of LGBTQIA+ youth
About Minus18: 2 in 3 LGBTQIA+ youth still experience abuse for being who they are. Minus18 are on a mission to create an Australia where all young people are safe, empowered, and surrounded by people that support them. Their preventive model of mental health support tackles social isolation through spaces where LGBTQIA+ youth belong and by empowering the next generation of leaders.
