Abilities Unleashed: Children and Youth

When

Friday 28 November from 12:30am to 2:30pm

The Abilities Unleashed program allows children and young people to try sports they might otherwise miss out on.

Aimed at kids ages 5 to 18 with learning difficulties, and intellectual, sensory, and physical disabilities, it allows them to have a go in a fun and inclusive environment.

The day involves:

  • a range of sports to try

  • specialized coaching

  • adaptive equipment

  • show bags

  • local sporting club exhibitors

  • access to community services

  • opportunities to network with other families and teachers.

Benefits of attending:

  • the health benefits of physical activity

  • building social wellbeing and friendships

  • strengthening balance, coordination, and mobility skills

  • working as part of a team, collaborating, and planning

  • increase self-esteem through a sense of achievement.

Disability Sports Australia aims to get more Australians with a disability active more often while working nationally to support sport and active recreation participation.
