A Search for Home

Leichhardt Espresso Chorus invites you on a musical journey of belonging, love, loss, renewal and hope in A Search for Home, a concert at the historic Hunter Baillie Church in Annandale.

At the heart of the program is Australian composer Kevin Barker’s powerful choral cantata The Last Migration, conducted by Aija Draguns and performed with the acclaimed Acacia Quartet.

Inspired by the extraordinary annual migration of shorebirds from Siberia to Australia, The Last Migration traces a profound circular journey: departure, endurance, return — and the enduring pull of home.

Surrounding this major work are intimate choral pieces that explore what it means to search for somewhere, or someone, to belong.
