Wednesday 21 June 2023 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
We’re celebrating live music at the Pav with 2 inspirational women.
Currently touring internationally, Kenyan singer-songwriter Lisa Oduor-Noah and local folk songstress and kora player, Miriam Lieberman will join us for an unforgettable night of music and artist talk before the show.
Oduor-Noah is a true musical shape shifter with undeniable presence and an intoxicating voice performing soulful jazz pop originals with her dynamic band. A Berklee College of Music graduate who tours around the world, inspired by her cultural roots, Oduor-Noah hopes to be an agent of hope, healing, and connection through her music.
Oduor-Noah has collaborated with several well-known African artists including Blinky Bill, Kato Change, June Gachui and Sauti Sol and performed at the Global Citizen Festival last year in New York’s Central Park, the Shanghai Jazz Festival and Coke Studio Africa.
Lisa Oduor-Noah will be joined by Jonathan Zwartz (Double Bass,) Nick Garbett (Horns) and Daniel Pliner (Keys/Piano).
Lieberman’s songs are soulful collections of stories beautifully told through kora (West African harp) guitar and her unmistakable voice. Experience Lieberman's enchanting musical style inspired by her transformational time studying music in Latin America & West Africa.
Lieberman is joined by stellar collaborators Lara Goodridge (Fourplay/Baby et Lulu) and Lara Norman (Peppercorns) who with their celestial violin arrangements and dreamy three-part harmonies lift this unapologetically feminine sound further still.
Free artists talk, 6:45pm - 7:10pm Miriam Lieberman and Lisa Oduor-Noah will talk about their musical journeys, inspirations and cultural influences as singer/songwriters.
