9 to 5 The Musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, 3 workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss Franklin Hart Jnr.

This run-away success on the West End features a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick and an Oscar, Grammy and Tony award-nominated score by the Queen of Country herself, Dolly Parton including her much-loved hit song, 9 to 5!

Internationally acclaimed and loved by audiences and critics alike, 9 TO 5 is pure gold carat fun! Tickets are on sale from Friday 29 October.

A sensation on the West End and inspired by the hit film, the musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three enterprising workmates pushed to the edge by their mean-spirited boss Franklin Hart Jnr. Resorting to wit, comradery and cunning, they dream up a no holds barred scheme to kidnap and turn the tables on their controlling supervisor in the most hilariously defiant of ways. The only question is, will the feisty trio manage to change the office culture to reach their full potential - or will events unravel when the CEO pays an unexpected visit?

With a sparkling score by Dolly Parton and a book by the iconic movie’s original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, 9 TO 5 is the quintessential feel-good show for the times. Full of mischief, laughter and affection, it’s gold carat fun!

Covid-safe information

The Seymour Centre is committed to providing audiences with a COVID-safe visit. As of October 22, rules are as follows:

FIRST OFF, IF YOU’RE FEELING UNWELL, AWAITING COVID-19 TEST RESULTS, OR HAVE RECENTLY ATTENDED A COVID-19 CASE LOCATION, PLEASE DON’T VISIT.

Instead, please contact our Box Office and let us know up to two hours prior to your event and we’ll do our best to move you to an alternative date. We have temporarily removed our ticket exchange fees to make date swaps as easy as possible.

If we can’t find a new date that works, we will convert the value of your tickets to a gift voucher eligible for any future Seymour show and valid for three years, or we'll provide you with a refund.

IF YOU CAN, CONSIDER DRIVING TO THE VENUE.

To help minimise crowding on public transport, we encourage you to drive if you can. There is a secure multi-storey car park located nearby, and free parking in the streets surrounding the Seymour. Find out more about transport options here.

UPON ARRIVAL FOR YOUR EVENT, YOU MUST PUT ON A FACE MASK.

All patrons over 12 must wear a mask while inside our foyers and theatres, except if eating or drinking or if a documented medical reason prevents it. Masks are also recommended for younger children where appropriate. Please bring a mask with you.

NEXT, COME TO THE FRONT DOOR TO CHECK IN AND PRESENT YOUR VACCINATION STATUS.

When you arrive, we'll have Service NSW QR codes displayed at the entrance to the building. Use your smartphone to scan the code, and then follow the prompts to check in for contact tracing purposes.

If you don’t have a smartphone, our staff will be able to record your details and check you in using our iPad.

If you and any other patrons on your booking are 16 or older, you’ll also need to show proof of double vaccination or medical exemption. Our staff will ask to sight this at the door once you’ve completed your QR check-in.

Patrons under 16 are not required to be vaccinated, but must be accompanied by a fully vaccinated member of their household.

Instructions for accessing and presenting proof of vaccination or exemption can be found here.

THEN YOU CAN HEAD ON IN! PLEASE HAVE YOUR TICKETS READY AS YOU APPROACH THE THEATRE DOORS.

Once you’re inside, you can visit our café or bar for a drink and a snack.

When it’s time for your event to start, please have your tickets handy to minimise queuing at the theatre doors.

In particular, if you have e-tickets, please have these open on your phone, with brightness turned up, so our ushers can easily scan your tickets and point you to your seats.

ONCE YOU’RE INSIDE, TAKE YOUR SEAT AND ENJOY THE SHOW.

All our 2021 events are currently operating at 75% capacity. Seating will not be explicitly socially distanced and you may be seated alongside other booking groups.

2022 events that are currently on sale have varied seating capacities, and further details can be found on each specific event page.

During the show, please keep your mask on and remain in your seat to help ensure a calm and safe experience for all.

DURING YOUR VISIT, PLEASE REMEMBER THESE OTHER IMPORTANT POINTS.

Observe good hygiene practices: Wash and sanitise your hands regularly in the bathrooms or at sanitising stations located throughout the venue. Cough and sneeze into your elbow.

Practice social distancing where possible: Queue where indicated, don’t congregate in the foyers, observe lift limits, stay in your designated seat when inside the theatre, and in all other instances maintain a 1.5 metre distance if possible.

Use contactless payment where possible: Contactless payment is available at the Box Office and our café and bar.

If you suspect COVID-19 infection after your visit: Please contact your local public health authority immediately and notify us on 02 9061 5344.

AND FINALLY, READ ABOUT THE ADDITIONAL STEPS WE’VE TAKEN TO KEEP YOU SAFE.

We’ve implemented enhanced cleaning procedures at our venue, with all hard and high-touch surfaces cleaned regularly with hospital-grade disinfectant. All our front of house managers have completed training to become COVID-19 safety marshals.

Thank you for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions prior to your visit, please contact our Box Office - and on the day of your visit, our friendly staff will be there to guide you through.
