Devastated to discover they’re having their first child, militant climate activists Daisy and Michael attempt to reconcile their views against the inevitable emissions of bringing a child into the world, and embark on a deranged mission to offset the baby’s carbon footprint. Becoming more and more entangled in chasing a net zero existence, the couple lose all grasp on reality, control, and what it means to be “good”.
Daring, dangerous and proud of it, 3 Billion Seconds sucks the audience into Daisy and Michael's vortex, before violently spitting them out even more uncertain about the world than when they entered.
UK Playwright Maud Dromgoole’s acerbic two-hander is brought to the stage by a powerhouse team. Led by director Dominique Purdue (Furious Mattress, Legit Theatre Co), and starring Victor Y Z Xu (All Boys, Every Other Theatre Co) and Izabella Louk (These Youths Be Protesting, Blinking Light), with original composition and sound design byCameron Smith (Posh, Queen Hades Production)
