If you haven’t yet made it to Sydney’s new summer stage, Sunset Piazza, you’ll be delighted to hear that another 4 weeks of stellar programming has just been announced.
Headlining the second half of the program is one of the globe’s most accomplished musical geniuses, Ben Folds. Fans will be used to seeing the star perform to huge audiences, so Sunset Piazza offers a unique opportunity to catch an intimate performance with just over 500 lucky guests.
The Covid-safe venue has offered Sydneysiders a new space to enjoy live entertainment in the city centre this summer. After a successful launch at the end of January, the event has been a huge hit and most shows have sold out.
The line-up so far has showcased the incredible talent on offer in Sydney. Resident dance trio, Pnau, are set to bring their catalogue of dance anthems to the stage. Sydney-based hip hop rising star, Ziggy Ramo, will perform his insightful, emotional and arresting debut material.
You can also catch a night of variety at the community concert. From box drummers and street dancers to inspirational choirs and soulful Latin American singers, come and celebrate Sydney’s diverse and talented local performance groups.
Also on the line-up is Brisbane’s award-winning singer-songwriter and Eurovision heroine, Kate Miller-Heidke, Melbournians comedic singer-songwriter Eddie Perfect and singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist G Flip, Shire songbird Ruby Fields, and north coast-based singer-songwriter Pete Murray.
Bringing the laughs is the Sunset Piazza comedy gala, featuring Wil Anderson, Sam Taunton, Danielle Walker, Oliver Twist, Alex Jae and host Justin Hamilton.
A much-loved fixture in local LGBTIQ communities, the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir with special guest Trevor Ashley and the award-winning musical theatre and cabaret ensemble Rewired: Musicals reimagined on the Sunset Piazza by Hayes complete the 2021 program.
With limited tickets, performances will sell out, so get yours fast. All events will follow Covid-safe regulations. Please follow the latest NSW Health advice regarding social distancing and hygiene, and stay home if unwell.
With a whole host of new events happening across the city, make the most of your night out before or after by dining outdoors, exploring a museum, or visiting one of the city’s new public artworks.
Sunset Piazza is part of the Summer in the City program funded by the NSW Government and City of Sydney.
