Enjoy one of Sydney’s favourite outdoor pools, the Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool, as it officially reopens for the swimming season.

Set on Woolloomooloo Bay, near the Royal Botanic Garden, this outdoor pool treats swimmers to breathtaking views of Sydney Harbour.

Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool is open during September from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 4pm.

To mark the start of spring, our other outdoor pools at Victoria Park in Camperdown and Prince Alfred Park in Surry Hills are extending their opening days to include weekends. These pools will be open Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 4pm.

Prince Alfred Park Pool in Surry Hills

Our outdoor pools are open for lap swimming, squads and swim school classes. The smaller pool at Andrew (Boy) Charlton is open to restricted numbers for free play when swim school is not in session.

The water play area at Prince Alfred Park and the splash pool at Victoria Park remain closed.

You can also jump into Cook + Philip Park Pool or Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.

Covid-19 restrictions

The safety of our community is our highest priority. Covid-19 restrictions are in place at our pools and facilities. Follow the instructions that include physical distancing, good hygiene and signing in when you visit.
