Imagine Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory al fresco. A true feast for all the senses, catch live demos and chocolate sculptures as well as delicacies created just for the festival.

Sydney Tea Festival

Oolong, tisane, matcha, rooibos. If these words mean anything to you, you’ll be in good company. If not, now’s the (tea) time for an education. Wander around the tea market, displaying dozens of speciality and artisan teas from across the globe. Some of Australia’s leading tea enthusiasts will host talks, tastings, workshops and tea ceremonies. Entry includes a tasting cup.

Sydney Guitar Festival

A carefully handpicked line-up of the finest in 6-string talent takes to the stage, and other places, at this festival. Explore all kinds of sounds and perhaps pick up something you haven’t heard before from genres encompassing classical, flamenco, jazz, blues and rock. The schedule features live performances, masterclasses and workshops with local and international musicians.

Newtown Record Fair

Vinyl aficionados gather at this monthly meet, bringing together buyers and sellers of the treasured medium. Peruse over 10,000 titles in a beer garden and converse with like-minded hunters and collectors (sorry). A charcoal barbecue and live tunes round out the day nicely.

Sydney Beer Week

October means Oktoberfest, so why not go to a festival dedicated to beer in Sydney? Cheers to that! Sydney’s biggest celebration of beer boasts more than 130 events over 9 days. Take in happenings around town like the Sydney Beer Awards, Food Truck Corral, festival hub and Hair of the Dog Breakfast for the morning after.
