An international delegation of visiting artists from China’s north-central province of Henan.
The City of Sydney’s Chinese New Year Festival welcomes an international delegation of 22 visiting artists from China’s north-central region of Henan.
Audiences will be thrilled with a series of stunningly choreographed martial arts performed by Shaolin Monks, who will showcase Shaolin Xiang Xing Quan (imitation boxing), kung fu skills and a demonstration of Shaolin weapons and stunts.
Henan artists will also treat guests to traditional dance and music performances. Cultural entertainment includes Henan dialect rap and beautiful Chinese classical dance. Audiences will also experience a traditional performance of the pipa, which is often referred to as the king of Chinese folk musical instruments.
