Are you aged 18-25? Join us for this great event! The day follows a workshop style format where you will learn and implement design thinking concepts such as customer validation, creating business models and learning how to map user journeys. You will then pitch your solutions to a panel of diverse judges. The winners of the event will have a potential opportunity to apply for a City of Sydney grant to help bring their idea to life.
Over the course of this one-day event you will work in teams to create and design an innovative solution to one of the following challenges:
Youth employment: How can we give young people opportunities for employment?
Civic engagement: How can we give young people more of a voice in decision making?
Information and access: How do we best inform young people about events that they may be interested in?

10:30am: Business model, budgeting workshop and social lean canvas
12:30pm: Validation + prototyping
2:30pm: Pitch workshop
3:15pm: Pitch slides due
3:30pm: Pitches and judges feedback
4:15pm: Judges decision and celebration
4.30pm: End of program
About your facilitator
Margaret O’Brien is the CEO and Co-Founder of a social enterprise Young Change Agents. She works with young people across Australia helping them turn social, environmental and economic problems into social enterprise solutions. She has previously worked as a Social Enterprise Advisor to the Incubator program, The Crunch. She has worked in youth development in Colombia and additionally has over 12 years of corporate experience both in Australia and the UK.
