Yang to Yin Yoga Immersion

When

Saturday 26 November 2022 from 10:30am to 3:30pm

The concept of Yin and Yang invites us to reflect on how we can work with opposite energies to bring balance and harmony to our lives.

In this 1 day yoga immersion we will explore the qualities of Yang in the morning through a workshop style Yoga class moving towards forearm balance and headstand. With options for beginners through to more experienced practitioners this part of our day is designed to energise, empower and challenge.

Balancing the efforts of our morning practice we'll spend time with calming breathwork and a facilitated personal reflection process, before stopping to refuel with a delicious plant based lunch.

In the afternoon we shift gears, inviting in a slower, more introspective energy through a Yin Yoga practice focusing on Kidney Meridian. In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Kidneys are viewed as the foundation of all Yin Yang balance in the body. Pranayama and guided meditation will be used to support this restorative practice and integrate the earlier work of our day.

Leave feeling grounded, nourished, and more connected to both your power and your peace (and with a Goody Bag!)

*Please note that places are limited to a maximum of 15 people to ensure a supportive and intimate environment*

Your Teacher:

Ella has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and has experience teaching Vinyasa, Yin, Power Flow, Mellow Flow and Beginner's Yoga, along with Pranayama and Meditation. Her yoga classes encourage mindful movement and breath to release tension, develop strength, flexibility and awareness. Ella believes movement and breath are gateways to personal transformation and her Vinyasa classes combine a strong practice with smart sequencing to challenge, support and empower students on, and ultimately off, the mat.

 Your day includes:

  • A workshop style yoga class building strength and focus, with the opportunity to explore forearm balance and headstand. If you are nervous about going upside down, or unsure about how to approach these poses in your yoga practice, this is your opportunity to demystify the process, ask plenty of questions and receive some one on one attention. The workshop features plenty of options for beginners through to more experienced practitioners for an accessible, fun experience.

  • Facilitated reflection and journaling

  • Delicious plant based lunch

  • Extended Yin Yoga practice focusing on Kidney Meridian. Yin Yoga is a slow, restorative practice that has a calming influence on our nervous system and invites relaxation through our muscles whilst applying gentle (and healthy!) stress to our connective tissue. In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Kidneys are considered Yin, and are viewed as the foundation of all Yin-Yang balance in the body.

  • Pranayama (yogic breathwork)

  • Guided meditation

  • Yoga props provided

  • Goody bag to take home
