Russian Resurrection Film Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and the program for 2018 is set to be bigger and better than ever!
The celebration will kick off in Sydney at Event Cinemas George Street on November 1 with the Australian premiere of The Coach, directed by and starring Danila Kozlovsky. Released in the lead up to the World Cup, the film captures the emotion and the spirit of the world of Russian football through the travails of a provincial club struggling for purpose, while its new coach fights for redemption.
The screening will be followed by the White Birch/MOS Beverages opening night party at QT’s Gilt Lounge. Featuring vodka cocktails, Russian food, dancing and live entertainment from triple ARIA award winning band Monsieur Camembert.
From some of the latest Russian sporting dramas, family fantasies and romantic comedies to classic Soviet cinema and war films there’s something for everyone on the program.
The retrospective collection will showcase a selection of award-winning Soviet films chosen to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Lenfilm Studios in St. Petersburg.
