World Square brings back free silent cinema for summer

Silence is golden this summer, with World Square set to bring back its free outdoor cinema in January 2016. Bask in Sydney’s summer nights and watch free movies beneath the stars in peaceful silence.

Movies will screen in the Square every Wednesday evening at 7pm from 6 January to 16 March 2016.

A range of summer-inspired holiday film favourites are on offer including Jaws, The Holiday and Love Actually as well as cult classics from the 1980s and 90s such as Muriel’s Wedding, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Romeo & Juliet.

Hong Kong-Chinese fantasy film The Monkey King will also screen on 10 February as part of World Square’s Chinese New Year festivities, to celebrate the dawning of the Year of the Monkey.

Headphones and deckchairs are provided and World Square’s food outlets present a diverse range of options for dinner and snacks.
