Sign up for a Sydney heat of Australian Poetry Slam. Writers and performers are given a mic and 2 minutes to share their original piece and impress the judges. Judges are chosen randomly from the live audience on the night.
The 2 top scoring writers from the heat will go on to perform at the Sydney final of Australian Poetry Slam.
To participate or watch the heat, make sure to book a seat in the audience. You can sign up at 6pm on the night to perform. Performance starts at 6.30pm sharp.
Troy Wong was born and raised in western Sydney, the first child of Singaporean expats. He is the author of 3 collections of poetry: Spitfire, Someone Else’s Egypt, and most recently, hAROLD. From 2016 to 2018 he helmed the monthly Granville Poetry Slam (formerly Parramatta Poetry Slam) as host and creative director. He was a national finalist in the 2015 Australian Poetry Slam and has toured his work in Australia and Singapore. His work has been published in Cordite Poetry Review, Pressure Gauge Press and the Australian Poetry Journal’s ‘spoken’.
