Join Remy Pajaczkowski-Russell to Waverley Woollahra Art School for a 5 week structured wheel throwing course.
This course is a basic intro course open to beginners with no previous experience or those looking to keep practicing in a supported class, perfect for students looking to try wheelthrowing in a relaxed and open environment. Remy will combine group and one-on-one demonstrations as well as time for students to work under supervision.
Week 1 is a session of wheelthrowing, students make between 3-5 pots of their choice. We begin with a demonstration with questions then we all make a pot at the same pace
Week 2 is the same length, more wheelthrowing and demonstrations on how to make shapes that go up instead of just out. Students make another 3-5 pieces
Week 3 is the same length and is a trimming class. Students trim as many pieces as possible (average 4-6 pieces get kept).
Week 4 is a glazing class. We start with basic glaze theory and then begin glazing the pieces and preparing them for firing.
Week 5 student will have their work returned and can review the results and continue honing their wheel skills.
Clay + firing is included for up to 4 pieces.
