Celebrate the Lantern Festival with a free, family-friendly cultural workshop in the heart of Sydney’s Chinatown.

Children and families are invited to enjoy a hands-on introduction to Lunar New Year traditions through a range of creative activities, including:

  • Making traditional lanterns to celebrate the Year of the Horse

  • Writing the Chinese character “福” (good fortune)

  • Creating festive New Year prints using traditional stamping techniques

This free activity offers children the opportunity to explore Chinese culture through art and creativity, while families share a meaningful and joyful festival experience together. All materials are provided, and no bookings are required.

Whether you are continuing Lunar New Year traditions or discovering them for the first time, this workshop offers a welcoming space for families to connect, create and celebrate the season of renewal.
