Weave workshop with Amanda Farquarson

When

Saturday 15 May 2021 from 10am to 1pm

In conjunction with the Tree of Life exhibition join us for a weave workshop with Amanda Farquarson.

In this 3 hour intro workshop we will be learning basic bind/weave/ twine & coil weave techniques to create a small basket, mat or more sculptural piece from locally collected and prepared natural fibres, twines and curious tree elements.

Through actively engaging in nature, Amanda has amassed a collection of gathered twigs, fronds, vines, sedges and natural textiles we will be using in creating a personal art piece to take home. Participants are welcome to bring a small special element they may wish to include in their work.

Amanda Farquharson has a lifelong Creative Arts practice, and has developed traditional weaving skills honed over the last 15 years. She has a MA in Drawing @ UNSW AD and is an active member of Tree Veneration Society.

Suitable for ages 16+
