Wave of Life ink art exhibition

Internationally acclaimed Hong Kong artist and creator of the beloved Chocolate Rain brand, Prudence Mak, will present her solo ink art exhibition, Wave of Life.

Following its successful debut at the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre in 2024, Wave of Life extends the original exhibition’s creative vision while presenting a curated selection of works created between 2023 and 2026. The display features contemporary ink paintings, ceramics and large‑scale installations, bringing together early explorations, signature pieces and newly created works unveiled for the first time in Australia.

 Through the expressive language of ink art, Mak delicately captures her reflections on life, memory, nature, culture and self‑discovery. The exhibition not only charts her artistic evolution over recent years but also embodies her ongoing journey of learning and experimentation within contemporary ink practice.

The title Wave of Life draws inspiration from the ever changing rhythm of the ocean, symbolising the continuous ebb and flow of existence. Each artwork becomes a fragment of the artist’s personal and creative journey, a monumental 2.5-metre-high, 3-metre-wide installation immerses audiences in a poetic landscape of childhood dreams and wave —a profound meditation on growth, transformation and the enduring ties that connect people, cultures and time.
