This fun workshop for beginners explores the basics of using watercolours, pencil and ink.

We will work from a small still life arrangement to create a small artwork on archival watercolour paper. Students will learn formal watercolour painting techniques such as washes, blooming and staccato dry brushing.

Explore unconventional painting methods using materials such as cling wrap, salt and rubbing alcohol to create ethereal patterns and effects. Your tutor will give you some great tips and hints to show you the many and varied possibilities of this magical medium.

Suitable for participants aged 16 years and over - no experience necessary.

  • Intimate class size: maximum 10 students 

  • Level: designed for beginner level students 

  • Wear: comfortable clothing and enclosed shoes 

  • Bring: yourself – all materials provided
