VR at the Hub

Don a virtual reality headset and slip into another world!

Sydney Film Festival invites you to open your mind and expand your imagination.

Choose from our fantastic distinct programs. These include Home Grown: new adventures from Australia, Asia Immersed: hot new creators from China, Taiwan and South Korea and Planet Immersive, worldly adventures.

VR 1: Planet Immersive, 15 minutess, $15
Two confronting, 360-degree VR films that take you deep inside the destruction being wrought by climate change upon the ocean, the reefs and the Arctic. Interactive, animated and inspiring, these VR experiences will change or expand your world view.

VR 2: Lambchild Superstar (Minimum 2 people), 20 minutes, $25
If you enjoyed 2-person VR experience Life of Us last year, you’ll love Lambchild Superstar. You and a friend enter a magical world where you make music together using friendly animals, robots and weird contraptions. Created by a team including OK Go member Damian Kush, Lambchild is rock star for VR.

VR 3-6, $25
Dive headfirst into our distinct curated programs Asia Immersed, Home Grown, Unseen Worlds or Storm Riders, a longer standalone experience. Browse the best new VR projects from Australia and around the world, any of which can be programmed into your headset at your chosen time. Step inside the animated set of Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs while your neighbour flies through the sky with a mystical ghost wale.

VR 7: Terrachi, 20 minutess, Free
A free VR experience created by students at the UTS and Animal Logic – an interactive world where you control the spatial physics using Tai Chi moves: grow trees, shift mountains and throw fireballs with your bare hands.

Please visit the SFF website for the full list of VR experiences. All VR experiences are classified as MA15+.
