Looking for a creative way to support your teen's learning? Join us for a practical 2-hour makerspace session for home-school families, designed for teenagers aged 12-16 and their parents or guardians.

This intergenerational program centres on digital fabrication skills in 3D printing, as well as offering access to robotics, electronics and hands-on making projects.

Each session will offer a guided starter activities designed to spark curiosity and build foundational maker skills using our fabrication tools. Learn alongside others how to create 3D designs using free, beginner-friendly software like Tinkercad and Onshape, and bring your ideas to life with our 3D printers.

Our August session focuses on Laser cutting from nature. We will use microscopes to take macro photographs of seeds, flowers and plants. Learn about native plant biology and explore the textures, shapes and forms within nature. Once we have some cool shots, we will learn to edit and prepare our images for laser cutting using Adobe CS, to create an art print & a key ring. A fun hands-on workshop for teens to learn a range of making skills.

Please note: while these activities vary each month, we do repeat some activities during the calendar year.
