Fridays, 12am to 4am Friday 24 July 2020 to Friday 6 November 2020
The concept is to train individuals in the history, structure and operations of the United Nations.
Inclusive in this will be several competency-based subjects that will give the student recognisable skills that can be used in either UN work or their own career.
Course structure
The structure of the UN Diploma course is as follows:
Friday night lectures: 6 - 8pm
Duration: 20 weeks
Covering: 8 subjects and 4 competencies
The course uses Competency Based Training, the key competency being Project Planning. This can be utilised for the planning of UNAA (NSW) functions. Aligned with this are four assessments based upon what has been taught and the student’s ability to plan a project. The four assessments will focus on:
The student’s knowledge of the United Nations,
The student’s ability to plan a UN function or event
The student’s ability to:
Manage a conflict
Develop and use emotional intelligence,
Develop a project, and
Make a presentation
