Live music, interactive art and retro gaming take over Green Square Library for a special after-hours event. Presented in collaboration with our library youth curators, come and check out the new underground library and enjoy a fun night of free entertainment.
The music line-up features some fantastic local Sydney talent. Spilt Milk will get you moving with its high octane, synth-driven jams and The 902 with its blend of rock, funk, alt pop, jazz and blues. There’ll also be a live performance from popular folk rock artist Harley Mavis.
Meet some of Sydney’s most exciting contemporary artists who’ll be showcasing their interactive work. You’ll get to strap on an EEG (electro-encephalographic) headset and watch your thoughts come to life in Laura Jade’s Brainlight installation. Or collaborate with Andrew Burrell to build a live virtual reality environment using found text and images from the library’s collection.
Experience and describe your own scent-landscapes from the future in Cat Jones’ award winning olfactory artwork Century’s Breath.
Then grab a joystick to play our retro video games on the big screen. Battle it out on all the classic Atari, Nintendo and Sega games of the 80s and 90s.
