Underground: this side up!

An outlandish night of live music and interactive art making.

Produced by the City of Sydney

Live music and interactive art take over Green Square Library for a special after-hours event for young people. Come and get creative and enjoy a night of free entertainment.

The music line-up features some fantastic local Sydney talent. Enjoy the infectious force of headlining act Georgia June, The 902’s blend of rock, funk, jazz and blues and the alternative, psychedelic, indie rock of The Assets.

Sip on delicious milk tea from the Boba Well, an installation by Dylan Goh featuring a self-serve ceramic well filled will tea.  There’ll also be food from Parliament on King, social enterprise catering made by asylum seekers and refugees, in partnership with locals

Challenge your senses in an audio visual experience with interactive, improvised music performed by members of the Youth Curators, the Vermillion Trio.

Ka-ching ka-ching. Try out our poetry writing cash registers and take home your own original poem.

High up in the tower you’ll find our quaint cardboard village under construction. Join in to make your own dream house addition.

Write an anonymous note on tissue paper and watch as they float down from the reading room balcony into a stranger’s lap.

Matriark Theatre’s big, playful monsters – The Monstrosities, will also be roaming the library all night.

Presented with our Library Youth Curators, this free event is for young people 16 to 24 years old.  Bookings are recommended.
