Set 7 years into the Trojan war, the Greeks are besieging Troy to rescue their beloved Helen. But the war has reached stalemate. The Greeks are quarrelling amongst themselves and the Trojans are debating the value of continuing the war merely for the sake of keeping Helen.
Troilus and Cressida deals with the trials of love and war, exploring themes of honour, the gap between myth, legend and reality and ultimately questioning the purpose of our existence.
And, of course, there is the thwarted love story of Troilus and Cressida.
