Transform - Green Square self-guided walking tour

When

Every day, all day Saturday 4 September 2021 to Thursday 30 September 2021

Discover Sydney’s newest neighbourhood while learning about its fascinating history and stunning architecture.

From wetlands to woolwashes, dairies to designer apartments; from Chinese market gardeners and shopkeepers to clairvoyants and factory workers – the area of Zetland and Green Square has a chameleon quality, constantly transforming itself.

Transform, a new walk in the Sydney Culture Walks app, will take you through the former industrial suburb of Zetland. Starting at the Green Square Library and Plaza you will encounter parks and laneways, Aboriginal culture and modern architecture. The layers of Sydney’s history unfold before you as you wander around this remarkable place.

This new self-guided walk will be live in the Sydney Culture Walks app from 4 September 2021. Download the app for free from the Apple app store or Google Play.

The walk has been devised by the City of Sydney's City Historian to celebrate History Week 2021.

The award-winning Sydney Culture Walks app provides you with your own private walking tour, in your pocket. Take the walk in your own time, at your own pace. It’s the perfect companion for your iso walk.
