Wednesday 30 November 2022 from 10am to 12pm Wednesday 7 December 2022 from 10am to 12pm
The City of Sydney’s Connect Sydney program aims to build the capacity of community and not-for-profit organisations by providing free skills and governance training.
This free training is provided for organisations that support and provide services to children, young people, families, and communities experiencing or at risk of vulnerability in the City of Sydney area.
Presented by Youth Disability Advocacy Service professional facilitators with lived experience, the training helps build confidence, skills and knowledge to better work with young people with disability.
Over the 2 sessions you’ll learn about:
assumptions and asking questions
models of disability
language and context around disability
accessibility in practice – planning, communicating, delivering, and reviewing
tools for accessibility, including practice using the tools.
Participants are expected to attend both 2-hour online sessions from 10 am to midday on Wednesday 30 November and Wednesday 7 December.
Places are limited to 2 people per organisation and priority is given to eligible sector workers.
Registration is essential.
We aim to deliver inclusive and accessible training sessions. If you have any access or communication needs, contact Vicky Skarlatos, social programs officer, at vskarlatos@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au or phone 02 9265 9333.
