In 2020, Mia Morrissey was set to lead the Australian premiere of Amélie: The Musical. Then the world stopped.

Six years later, following a string of national and international successes on screen and stage (Rent at The Sydney Opera House, Robyn Nevin’s And Then There Were None, Amazon’s International Emmy and GLAAD nominated series Deadloch, Stan’s Totally Completely Fine, Sundance Film Festival favourite Together and upcoming feature films Posthumous and Agata: The Writer), she returns to the Hayes to reclaim the show’s title song—not as a lament, but as a love letter to the unglamorous reality of a life in the arts.

Featuring original music, beloved covers, cheap glitter and some very special guests; Times Are Hard For Dreamers celebrates the hardship of art and the art of hardship in an open invitation for everyone to be a dreamer.
