The Sydney Skinny is a nude swim that has nothing to do with being SEEN nude. It is an all ticketed, no spectator event in a secluded national park where everyone is fully clothed off the beach and the only nudity is on the beach before you dive into the water.
It is about personally challenging yourself to step ever-so-slightly outside your comfort zone – in a way that is emancipating. Swimming nude is about being honest, fully alive and human.
We are very proud to announce that the Sydney Skinny is back for its 7th year in 2019! Once again we are proud to be supporting the Charlie Teo Foundation, funding brain cancer research.
We would also like to thank Peter Nicholas, of HiLife Health & Beauty whose personal generosity have literally saved the event! Alongside Peter we welcome a number of new partners who made the event possible. Thanks to Appliances Online Australia, H2coco Pure Coconut Water and Good Going Bakery.
This event is not a competition, nor is it timed. Swimmers set off in waves with a flash of exhilaration and the sheer enjoyment of a lovely swim.
When: 17 March 2019
Where: Cobblers Beach, Middle Head, Sydney Harbour National Park, Australia. This wonderfully calm and protected beach faces north-west, providing us with idyllic conditions for a lovely swim course.
Distance: Choose between 2 swim distances: 900m or 300m in the calm and sheltered waters of Middle Head. The 300m swim heads out gently with the main group, but takes an early right hand turn across the course and rejoining the longer course as it returns to shore.
Time: Event site opens at 8am with swim waves starting from 8:45am and we’ll be finishing up at 3pm.
