The Staging Post

Film screening and Q&A

The Staging Post is an Australian feature documentary that was filmed in 2017. The work follows the lives of 2 Afghan Hazara refugees, Muzafar and Khadim.

The film has been screened at sold out sessions across Australia and received an overwhelmingly positive response. It conveys powerful messages about friendship and connection.

Following the screening of the film, SSI will host a Speaker Series panel discussion with Q&A, featuring:

  • Muzafar Ali, former refugee from Afghanistan, photographer, community advocate and lead in The Staging Post
  • Khadim Dai, former refugee from Afghanistan, filmmaker and lead in The Staging Post
  • Jolyon Hoff, Director and Producer, The Staging Post
  • Kim Tao, Curator of post-Federation immigration at the Australian National Maritime Museum
  • Malini Raj, CBA Head of Strategy – Multicultural Community Banking and Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Champion.

Networking, drinks and light refreshments from 5.45pm. The film screens at 6.15pm.
