After opening the Imperial Basement up to the public again in September with a successful, sold out dinner + show experience, singer/songwriter Kim Sheehy from the She Collective and producer/director Lisa Freshwater from FEM Presents along with the Imperial Erskineville are thrilled to announce The Sappho Show will become a regular monthly event at the venue.
The Sappho Show shines a spotlight on queer cis and trans womxn including comedians, singers, musicians, drag and cabaret artists as well as non-binary performers who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of womxn.
The line up
Host - Rose Piper. Australia's premier transgender lesbian comedian* who you might've recently seen on the Sydney Opera House stage for their digital program or on ABC’s Tonightly. More likely though, you've seen her at a KFC somewhere shovelling popcorn chicken into her face with gay abandon. *maybe
October Guest Artist - Sepora. A self-proclaimed dark-pop princess, Sepora feels good being a little bad and she sings a little sad. Her smoky and soulful voice brings a timeless quality to a unique and dynamic repertoire. Gathering momentum since forever we’re thrilled Sepora is performing live for the first time since Covid locked us down on the Sappho stage. https://soundcloud.com/sepora
