The Sappho Show

Erskineville Rd
Newtown NSW 2042
The Imperial Erskineville

Thursday 22 October from 6:30pm to 11pm

Starting from: $38.50

After opening the Imperial Basement up to the public again in September with a successful, sold out dinner + show experience, singer/songwriter Kim Sheehy from the She Collective and producer/director Lisa Freshwater from FEM Presents along with the Imperial Erskineville are thrilled to announce The Sappho Show will become a regular monthly event at the venue.

The Sappho Show shines a spotlight on queer cis and trans womxn including comedians, singers, musicians, drag and cabaret artists as well as non-binary performers who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of womxn.

The line up

Host - Rose Piper. Australia's premier transgender lesbian comedian* who you might've recently seen on the Sydney Opera House stage for their digital program or on ABC’s Tonightly. More likely though, you've seen her at a KFC somewhere shovelling popcorn chicken into her face with gay abandon. *maybe

October Guest Artist - Sepora. A self-proclaimed dark-pop princess, Sepora feels good being a little bad and she sings a little sad. Her smoky and soulful voice brings a timeless quality to a unique and dynamic repertoire. Gathering momentum since forever we’re thrilled Sepora is performing live for the first time since Covid locked us down on the Sappho stage.

The Sappho House Band: Playing those good hearty bangers that make you want to sing along. Featuring:

Kim Sheehy on keys and vocals – The Voice 2019 All Star and The Sappho Show co-producer @kimsheehymusic

Debbie Yap on guitar – rockin’ out on show’s like Six the Musical and Barbara and the Camp Dogs. @depyap

Michelle Vincent on drums – one of Australia’s finest drummers who’s toured the country with many known Australian and international artists. @mishvincent

Sappho House DJ: JPHOEBZ. A Maori/Aussie DJ who’s strong connections to music and community influence her fresh energy on the decks. @jessephoebe
