After nearly two years off the stage, Noteable Theatre Company returns with a swashbuckling splash — a sparkling new production of The Pirates of Penzance at the beautiful Eternity Playhouse.
Love, duty, and absurdly punctual pirates collide in Gilbert & Sullivan’s timeless comic operetta. Frederic — apprenticed to a band of soft-hearted pirates until his 21st birthday — discovers he was born on February 29th… and therefore has far longer to serve than expected. Enter the quick-witted Mabel, a troop of determined daughters, a gloriously incompetent police force, and some of the wittiest lyrics ever written for the stage. Chaos (politely) ensues.
This fresh staging pairs razor-sharp comedy with a newly crafted orchestration by Jim Coyle, bringing renewed sparkle and intimacy to the beloved score while preserving every patter song and soaring ensemble audiences adore. Performed in the intimate surrounds of Eternity Playhouse, this production places you right in the middle of the adventure — close enough to dodge a cutlass or join the chorus.
