The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever

Free community flash mob

Sydney is once again coming on board for the greatest, most Wuthering dance event ever and we need you there!

On 14 July, people all over the world will gather in major cities and windy moors in their prettiest red frocks. They’ll experience the whimsical joy that is the 1978 Kate Bush masterpiece, Wuthering Heights. They shall dance freely and merrily, frollicking and bounding across the grasses.

This is a free community event open to all ages and genders. No dance experience is necessary but a joyful attitude and willingness to look silly is definitely an asset!

2018 is extra special as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of the single (and Kate’s 60th birthday at the end of July). The wuthering ‘movement’ has captured the hearts and imaginations of people all over the world. It will be held in over 20 cities including Berlin, San Francisco, Dublin, Copenhagen and 10 locations around Australia.

If you would like to join us, please bring:

  • unadulterated joy (mandatory)
  • Kate Bush style gown (optional but ideal)
  • a positive attitude (mandatory)
  • birthday cake (optional).

This year, we’ll collect donations to cover event costs such as sound, photography and the music licence. We’ll also support Babana Aboriginal, a grassroots organisation that supports Indigenous men through social and economic empowerment, and domestic violence and suicide prevention programs.

This is a fairly casual, community, flashmob type event. You’re responsible for yourself and your property. There will likely be people photographing and videoing parts of the event, your attendance is your agreement to be filmed.
