Memphis is renowned for its music scene, and even the current pandemic can’t hold the home of blues, soul and rock n’ roll back from playing its sweet, sweet sounds.
With Memphis undoubtedly at the forefront of virtual music gigs, local venue The Levitt Shell has continued to deliver music direct from the southern city, to those around Australia and the world.
The Levitt Shell virtual series allows travel and music lovers alike, to be transported to the city of Memphis - virtually. For the remaining 2 weeks of September, those at home can tune in on Saturday at 10:30am (AEST), and watch performances from the past decade by some of the Levitt Shell’s and Memphis favourite artists.
Gigs to come are as follows:
Saturday, September 19th at 10.30am with OSOG (recorded)
Saturday, September 26th at 10:30am with River Whyless (recorded)
Located in Overton Park Memphis, the historic Levitt Shell is an open-air amphitheater, in which has hosted shows by famous musicians such as Elvis Presley. Each year (pre-Covid 19), the Levitt Shell would present 50 free concerts for locals and visitors alike, to enjoy.
Although things are a little different this year, the venue has continued to showcase some of its most favourite performances form the past decade, with these unique virtual gigs no doubt allowing those at home to feel as if they were enjoying music in Memphis itself.
Those at home in Australia are able to watch the three remaining gigs from the Levitt Shell Virtual Series, at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/TheLevittShell/
