Scene Theatre Sydney presents The Good Soldier Švejk, a modern stage adaptation of Jaroslav Hašek’s celebrated comic novel.
Cheerful, unshakeable, unpredictable and seemingly simple, Josef Švejk is one of Europe’s most beloved comic characters. As he moves through a world of military orders, officialdom and absurd authority, Švejk survives - and quietly subverts - a world that has gone completely mad.
Adapted by Scene Theatre Sydney Artistic Director Carol Dance, the production combines comedy, satire and sharp observations about bureaucracy, authority and human nature.
The 90-minute performance will be presented in the King George Room at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel, providing an intimate theatre experience in the heart of Sydney.
The bar opens 45 minutes before each performance.
