Illustration lies at the heart and genesis of fashion. Many designers begin their creative process with sketching, using hand-drawing to edit and refine until a final product is created. Journalists, fashion critics and experts also often employ sketching and illustration to capture the essence of collections and individual garments as models pass down the runway.
Leo Greenfield – an artist who explores the relationship between illustration and fashion – has an intimate understanding of the processes of sketching, design and journalism. Whether as an illustrator submitting pieces to leading fashion magazines, or as an artist recording the daily sartorial customs of his local neighbourhood, Greenfield celebrates fashion in all its forms.
Leading this workshop on fashion illustration exclusively for ages 10 to 15, Greenfield shares his love for and expertise in bringing fashion to life through illustration.
