Teen Physics Playground: Sound Waves

What does sound look like, and how do we experience it?
Test your own range of hearing, experiment with pitch and spatial awareness, and explore concepts such as rhythm, harmony, echoes, the Doppler effect, interference patterns and how instruments produce sound.
Along the way, discover how scientists measure the speed of sound and how data can be translated into sound to reveal patterns.

About the facilitator:
Science Educator Parker McLean studied Physics, Maths and Science Communication in Canada and comes to Woollahra Library with a background in curating hands on science centre exhibits, galleries and programs. He has performed over 300 live science shows and 150 hands-on science workshops. Bringing the joy of discovery to Woollahra Libraries, Parker presents classic science centre experiments and exhibits for you to puzzle through and explore!
