“I would like to be able to recreate landscape only with the help of the emotion they have provoked in me.” – Felix Valloton. French/Swiss painter from late 19th, early 20th century.

Water is the source of visual exploration and inspiration for this selection of recent studio paintings. From the coastal walks on Bruny Island in Tasmania to the familiar Shoalhaven River at Bundanon Trust NSW, Spring /summer was spent contemplating the life giving energy of water and the ecosystems it supports including us.

Tannya Harricks is an Australian artist known for her lush paintings of Australian landscapes and figurative work. Intent on capturing the energy of the subject through spontaneous gesture, she paints intuitively and without premeditation. The subject of her work is re-imagined in the manipulation of colour and form with fluid brushwork.
